Camp Ironwood FAQs

How do I register for Camp Ironwood?

The easiest way to sign up is by following the Application Link above and filling registering online. If you would rather use a paper copy, you will need to complete an application form that can be printed off our website or picked up at the front desk of the YMCA. A separate application must be submitted for each child. The application can then be submitted to the front desk of the YMCA or to our staff at one of our Afterschool sites. 

Is there a registration fee?

Yes, there is a $40 registration fee.

Can I receive financial assistance for the cost of Camp?

Yes, we offer financial assistance through our Open Doors Scholarship program. This form can be found on our website or picked up at the front desk. Once completed it can be emailed to Cindy Davis at cdavis@ymcakpt.org or dropped off at the front desk with all supporting documents (2 recent paystubs of all working adults in home, recent W2, proof of food stamps, child support, housing, etc). It takes 3-5 days to process these applications.

Can I sign up for individual weeks or do I have sign up for the whole summer?

You can pick and choose what weeks your child attends.

Can I cancel a week that I have already registered for?

You have the option to cancel any week registered up to the Monday before the 1^st week of camp which is May 25,2026. After that date you will be responsible for all registered weeks.

When are payments due?

The registration fee is due at the time of registration. Weekly fees are due the Friday prior to the Monday of the scheduled week.

Do I have to draft? Do I have to put a banking account on file?

Yes, fees are automatically drafted from your bank account or card of file unless you prepay the whole summer. This is mandatory. A bank account is preferable as cards expire and have to be replaced due to fraud frequently, but we can use a debit or credit card as well.

What if my child is sick or doesn’t attend a week of Camp?

Payment is based on registration not attendance.

Do I need to provide a snack or lunch for my child?

We provide Breakfast, an afternoon snack, as well as lunch for each child. You may want to send a water bottle each day with your child with their name on it.

What are the hours for Camp each day?

We run from 7am to 5:45pm there will be a charge for late pickups.

What number do I call if there is an emergency, or I need someone else to pick up my child?

You can call the Camp phone at 423-440-1840.

The Y offers a HYPE Teen Summer experience to make your middle schooler’s summer memorable in so many ways. From new friends to new challenges, HYPE will strive to stretch their expectations of fun and the way they think about the world. Our goal is to keep your tweens and teens active this summer by involving them in weekly service learning, and leadership experiences. We will also emphasize a healthy lifestyle through traditional games, sports, and activities. Your teen will be in a safe atmosphere with highly trained, fun and energetic staff. HYPE Teen Camp is for rising 6th through 8th graders. HYPE Campers get to swim one day a week, go on a weekly field trip, participate in a weekly leadership projects, and have breakfast, lunch, and one snack each day.

Wreck N’ Roll…Disney Princess…Robot Revolution…Code Quest…Living Arcade…Mandalorian Adventures…Grossology…eeeekkkk…and, a whole week of field trips???!!!  Our Specialty Camps are here to ignite the imaginations of your camper. The YMCA’s themed Specialty Camps are terrific opportunities for campers to explore their creativity and pursue their passions through science, art, sports, games, and more! It’s a perfect way to add variety to your camper’s summer experience as they learn and grow. Having a blast while learning, with a focused theme - that’s YMCA Specialty Camps! Breakfast, lunch and a snack will be provided daily. Specialty Campers do not go swimming or go on field trips except during our Cosmic Voyager week.  (See below for Specialty descriptions.)
