Annual Giving Campaign

Through the YMCA Annual Giving Campaign, your gift helps us provide support for special needs children and financial assistance to families who need it in our community. Only by working together can we give more kids and families the opportunities to grow strong in spirit, mind, and body. At the YMCA, one of our most important goals has always been to enrich the lives of kids in our community. Giving kids a safe and nurturing place to go benefits everyone. By introducing them to experiences that will help them grow into responsible, successful adults, we make the community we love a better place to live. One child at a time. One family at a time. YMCA programs teach young people important values such as caring, honesty, responsibility, and respect. Through a variety of fun and rewarding activities, they also develop valuable skills while they gain confidence and self-esteem. You simply can't put a price on strengthening and enriching the character of a child.

Program fees at the Greater Kingsport Family YMCA do not cover all the costs to support these vital community needs. To ensure that no one is denied a chance to participate because of their inability to pay, we truly need you. Please consider making a gift to the Y and help support your neighbors.

Together, Our Story is Made Better

Jessie B. Came Out of His Shell - When Jesse’s parents dropped off him and his brother on the Rogersville Court House steps, his grandparents rushed to their aid. His grandfather was suffering with cancer and had no idea how to keep him busy during the summer.

Someone referred him to the Y Day Camp, but he couldn’t afford much of the weekly fee. The counselors fell in love with Jesse and offered to help cover any costs the Y couldn’t subsidize through financial assistance. Jesse cried himself to sleep every night scared he wouldn’t get to keep coming to camp, but we made it work!
Fast forward a couple of years and he is a different child, making friends, having fun, and his grandparents feel so good that he has somewhere safe to spend his summers. His brother is even old enough to be a part of Camp now. The Y is so grateful to change our community 1 child at a time!

Heritage Club - Planned Giving nature_grn_rgb.jpg

The Heritage Club is a special group of friends who believe in the values and purpose of the Y and want to contribute to the impact the Y makes. It recognizes those families and individuals who make an outright gift or a planned gift to the YMCA Endowment Fund. By making this commitment, members of the Heritage Club ensure that the Y continues to make a positive impact on youth development, encourage healthy living, and foster social responsibility for future generations.

We invite you to become a member of the YMCA Heritage Club. This commitment contributes to a secure future for the YMCA so that its programs continue to address the most urgent needs in our community for years to come.

Each gift is invested and only a portion of the investment income is used to fund YMCA programs each year. Individuals who include the Greater Kingsport Family YMCA in their will, or make an outright gift of personal significance to the YMCA Endowment Fund, qualify for membership in the Heritage Club.
