Through the YMCA Annual Giving Campaign, your gift helps us provide support for children with special needs and financial assistance to families who need it in our community. Only by working together can we give more kids and families the opportunities to grow strong in spirit, mind, and body. At the YMCA, one of our most important goals has always been to enrich the lives of kids in our community. Giving kids a safe and nurturing place to go benefits everyone. By introducing them to experiences that will help them grow into responsible, successful adults, we make the community we love a better place to live. One child at a time. One family at a time. YMCA programs teach young people important values such as caring, honesty, responsibility, and respect. Through a variety of fun and rewarding activities, they also develop valuable skills while they gain confidence and self-esteem. You simply can't put a price on strengthening and enriching the character of a child.
Program fees at the Greater Kingsport Family YMCA do not cover all the costs to support these vital community needs. To ensure that no one is denied a chance to participate because of their inability to pay, we truly need you. Please consider making a gift to the Y and help support your neighbors.
Ethan is autistic and non-verbal. He has strict dietary restrictions and a tendency to wander. Because of these things, his family has few places they can trust to provide him with the supervision he needs to be safe. Ethan has attended 5 years of camp with the Y and his mom says every summer is always a greater blessing than the year before. “The staff help Ethan move beyond his comfort zone and he grows with each summer he spends in the program.”
Amy enrolled in the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program expecting it to be like other “diets” she had tried. She discovered it was different! “We started out slow, with easy-to-make lifestyle changes and a goal to lose 7% of our body weight. I learned to get moving and do what you can every day. Our group met weekly to encourage, complain, and laugh together, sharing ideas and recipes. I’m making changes, improving my life and fighting to keep diabetes away. I’m becoming a better me.”
Corde is being raised by his grandmother. Because of her finances, they had limited options for care. The Y provided a place where Corde could escape his problems and play like every kid. Corde’s grandmother says, “He has a new outlook on life and a new attitude because of the Y.”
Every dollar donated to the Greater Kingsport Family YMCA stays in Kingsport for a lasting impact in our community. We make giving easy! Choose to make a one-time gift, or give a little each month. With flexible ways to give your tax-deductible support, you can make a difference in the Y family!
The Y.™ For a Better Us.
The Heritage Club is a special group of friends who believe in the values and purpose of the Y and want to contribute to the impact the Y makes. It recognizes those families and individuals who make an outright gift or a planned gift to the YMCA Endowment Fund. By making this commitment, members of the Heritage Club ensure that the Y continues to make a positive impact on youth development, encourage healthy living, and foster social responsibility for future generations.
We invite you to become a member of the YMCA Heritage Club. This commitment contributes to a secure future for the YMCA so that its programs continue to address the most urgent needs in our community for years to come.
Each gift is invested and only a portion of the investment income is used to fund YMCA programs each year. Individuals who include the Greater Kingsport Family YMCA in their will, or make an outright gift of personal significance to the YMCA Endowment Fund, qualify for membership in the Heritage Club.
We would love the opportunity to share more about setting up a legacy that will have a lasting impact on children and families in the Greater Kingsport Area. Please contact John Lyon, YMCA CEO, at 423.765.9901 or firstname.lastname@example.org to address any questions or to consider taking the next steps towards planned giving.
