ONLINE REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR 2025-2026 AFTERSCHOOL

The YMCA has partnered together with the Sullivan County Schools to provide a safe, supportive environment with a focus on enrichment activities, academics, and fun. The Afterschool program provides youth with a safe place to go before and after the bell. More importantly, we help youth realize who they are and what they can achieve.

AFTERSCHOOL FAQ'S +

Afterschool FAQs

How do I register for Afterschool?

You will need to complete an application form that can be printed off our website or picked up at the front desk of the YMCA. A separate application must be submitted for each child. The application can then be submitted by email to Cindy Davis at [email protected] or to the front desk of the YMCA.

Is there a registration fee?

If you are applying at a fee-based site OR any of the Kingsport City Schools Sites, you are required to pay a $30 registration fee. Financial Assistance in Sullivan County and Hawkins County will not be required to pay a registration fee.

Can I receive financial assistance for the cost of Afterschool?

Yes, we offer financial assistance through our Open Doors Scholarship program. This form can be found on our website or picked up at the front desk. Once completed it can be emailed to Cindy Davis at [email protected] or dropped off at the front desk with all supporting documents (2 recent paystubs of all working adults in home, recent W2, proof of food stamps, child support, housing, etc). It takes 3-5 days to process these applications.

When are payments due?

The registration fee is due at the time of registration. Weekly fees are due the Friday prior to the Monday of the scheduled week. You have the option to pay weekly, semi-weekly, or monthly.

Do I have to draft? Do I have to put a banking account on file?

Yes, fees are automatically drafted from your bank account or card of file. This is mandatory. A bank account is preferable as cards expire and have to be replaced due to fraud frequently, but we can use a debit or credit card as well.

Do you offer care when schools are closed?

When schools are closed, Afterschool is closed. We do offer a separate program called School’s Out on most scheduled school closures at an additional cost.

What about snow days?

We are closed on snow days, and we do not offer alternative care. There are no refunds or credits for snow day closures.

What if my child is sick or doesn’t attend a week of Afterschool?

Payment is required regardless of attendance.
