Welcome to our Healthy Holiday Challenge, Dashing All the Weigh! The Y supports you in challenging yourself to be healthy through the holidays. The holidays have the potential to threaten your efforts towards a healthy lifestyle, but the Y supports you in challenging yourself to stay on track during this season. The goal is to find ways to reach 150 minutes of physical activity per week for the next 6 weeks (Thanksgiving through New Year's), with an additional goal to maintain or lose weight. Earn prizes for points accumulated with activity, points from weekly bonus challenges (options for all levels of ability), and a different prize for maintaining or losing weight!
It’s incredible how important just 150 minutes per week of physical activity can be for improving your health and reducing your risk for type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Find something you love to do - walk, bike, swim, take a Group Ex class, hike, run, practice yoga - to find your 150 each week, even if you have to experiment until you discover enjoyable ways. Grab a friend to join you or make a new one here. Wellness Coaches are standing by to help.
